Does bcu owe you money?
Organisers Mel Fernandez and Angela Budai will be visiting your workplace next week between Monday 21st November and Friday 25th November to investigate whether staff are being underpaid.
What are your rights during these visits?
- All staff are entitled to talk to an organiser in paid work time
- You can tell the truth about hours worked and unpaid overtime in private without bcu management being present
- You can provide an organiser with relevant documentation and information
- You can join the union if you are not already a member
You should tell your manager that you wish to speak to us when we are in your workplace and ask to interview you.
If you get told that you cannot speak to us in paid work time or that you cannot give us documents you need to call Angela or Mel immediately.
This is a serious breach of the Fair Work Act.
If you wish to speak to Mel or Angela about what time and day we’re going to be in your branch please give us a call. We don’t know how long our visits will take (and we’re from Sydney so we’re unfamiliar with travel times!) so we may not be able to give you exact times or locations until the day we arrive.
