Australia Day protest at St George

FSU members at St George’s Kogarah Head Office did something in the national interest leading up to Australia Day – registering their protest against the offshoring of jobs to India.

St George is currently undertaking a review of it’s operations area and up to 1,000 jobs are under threat. Not surprisingly it’s had a very negative affect on staff morale.

Head office staff wore Stop Offshoring badges and raised the Aussie flag on their desks with the slogan – We love St George – Keep Our Jobs Here.

Friday before Australia day the Head office was a sea of Aussie flags – sending a strong message to St George Management that staff believe that offshoring results in fewer opportunities for future generations of Australians and is against the national interest.
