Westpac announced last week that jobs in People and Performance will be offshored from Kent Street in Sydney with more jobs in P&P to go.

The 10 positions cut are in Learning and Logistics that is responsible for eAcademy. This means that Genpact in India will be responsible for storing, accessing and updating the personal training profile of every Westpac employee including names, work addresses and training information.

Calls to P&P Connect will be directed through to India.

The employees who are losing their jobs have been asked to train Genpact employees who will replace them.

Thousands of jobs now In Scope for offshoring

Westpac has said that the only jobs quarantined from offshoring are jobs with direct external customer contact.

All other jobs are now in scope. By offshoring department by department Westpac avoids the scrutiny that the announcement of large jobs cuts attract.
