A message from Fiona Jordan, FSU Westpac NEC President, Home Finance Manager, Melbourne North West Region

Hello again,

As President of the FSU Westpac National Enterprise Council and an employee of Westpac for 15 years, I’m writing to you to urge you to vote for Tony Thompson and Tony Bowden in the current election for Plan Members Directors for our superfund.

The Westpac Staff Superannuation Plan (WSSP) is the fund that Westpac pays compulsory employer contributions into on our behalf and where many of us contribute our own money to so we have financial security for our future.

Universal superannuation was fought for and won by union members. It didn’t always exist and we should never take it for granted.

The WSSP is a corporate, not for profit, fund established for Westpac staff. It has four Westpac appointed Directors and four Plan Members Directors elected by members of the fund – you and me and the majority of our colleagues.

I am convinced that union members, who have the endorsement of our union and a track record of standing up for their fellow members, should be elected by us to act on our behalf in keeping our superannuation savings safe and strong.

That is why I am calling on you to support our union’s endorsed candidates, Tony Thompson and Tony Bowden, in the election.

Both Tony and Tony are long serving Westpac employees. Both have a wealth of experience in management and finance. Most importantly, I think, both are long serving, active and committed union members.

I know they are both very well qualified to represent our superannuation interests. In fact, I know that they both have a genuine interest and passion for superannuation, way beyond the interest that many of us take.

So, this election for Plan Members Directors of the Westpac Staff Superannuation Plan, vote for Tony Bowden and Tony Thompson to make sure you get the representation you deserve and we all need to keep our super secure and performing in our interests.
