This week FSU Workplace Reps and BCU employees Jo Wake and Ros Brydon, along with FSU Organiser Mel Fernandez, met with BCU management to discuss staffing issues. In responding to the survey the majority of respondents, particularly in the branch network, felt their team had inadequate staff.

FSU are currently negotiating with management regarding staff increases to provide adequate staffing levels and we’ll keep you updated on the progress of those discussions.

Access to annual leave restored!

During the same meeting, FSU Reps also raised concerns about access to annual leave in some branches in the Northern Region. According to reports access to annual leave had been suspended indefinitely in a number of branches due to staffing shortages.

Your Reps gained a commitment from management that this directive will be lifted and all staff can now apply for annual leave.
