In recent days the FSU has been receiving enquires from IAG Hurstville members about their overtime entitlements on  Saturdays and Sundays. These concerns have been sparked after a recent email went out to staff asking for volunteers to work over the weekend with management only giving the option to accrue “credit flex” as payment. Management have not made it clear if this flex time would be at the appropriate penalties that weekend work attracts.

The FSU is disappointed that only days after the new IAG Enterprise Agreement 2012 has come into force, IAG members are still not being given access to their proper entitlements.

In the 2012 IAG EA clause 4.7 outlines your Overtime Entitlements:

4.7.4 states: Overtime will be paid as follows 

Clause 4.7.5 states:

(a)    An Employee and their Manager (through Mutual Agreement) may allow for the Employee to take time off in lieu of payment of overtime. Time off will be at the rate of the overtime payment appropriate to the hours worked.

(b)   Alternatively, by Mutual Agreement with their Manager, the Employee may elect to be paid at ordinary rates for the time worked and take time off.

(c)    Time off, taken in lieu of overtime pay will be taken as agreed between the Manager and their Employee within a four weeks of being worked. Where it is not practicable for the time off to be granted or taken within the four weeks, the Employee will be paid for the overtime worked at the prescribed rate.

IAG members worked hard last year to ensure that they have quality working conditions in their EA, its now time to ensure they are delivered.
