Bankwest ADI Update
Monday, 21 November 2011
The FSU and Bankwest have been working on the changes which will come about from the need to transition to one ADI licence, and the Bank’s decision to transfer employment of all employees from Bank of Western Australia to BWA Group Services.
This decision means that your employment will not be transferred to CBA. You will remain a Bankwest employee, and you will keep the conditions in your union negotiated enterprise agreement. The FSU is also working through the legal requirements to ensure that current and future Bankwest employees continue to have the Bankwest General Enterprise Agreement and the Bankwest/Trustwest Award apply to them.
Thanks to the Fair Work Act, you will maintain your employment conditions under the Bankwest Enterprise Agreement and Bankwest Award until a new enterprise agreement is negotiated. To ensure that the Bankwest Enterprise Agreement and Bankwest Award cover new employees who start after the transfer applications are being made to Fair Work Australia.
The FSU will apply for the Bankwest Award to cover new Bankwest employees, and the Bank has advised that it will support this application. While Bankwest will apply for the Bankwest General Enterprise Agreement to apply to new Bankwest employees, with the FSU supporting this application.
The FSU will seek a prompt outcome from Fair Work Australia so that this issue is resolved before any transfer of Bankwest colleagues to BWA Group Services takes place.
If you have any queries about this please do not hesitate to contact the FSU Member Rights Centre on 1300 366 378.
