Members have contacted the Union over the past few weeks with their concerns over staffing levels in Retail branches.
The issues members identified are:
- Report of staff freeze
- Vacancies appear to be remaining unfilled
- Increase use of Casuals
- Members report not able to take full lunch breaks
- Staff working additional hours unpaid
- Managers saying “no paid overtime” available
- Some branches fail to open on time due to insufficient staff
- Stress levels on the increase
- Bank say “reduced footfall equals cut to FTE”
- Maternity leave positions not filled
- Customer queues out the door
- Level of customer anger increasing
- Members feel unable to access sick leave due to pressure on other staff

Your Union has written to the Bank asking for their response to these serious issues. We will report back to you with the Bank’s response.
