ANZ Collective Agreement 2010: Consultation begins - Have your say...
Wednesday, 13 October 2010
After over a year of negotiations, this week FSU will begin to hold Reps meetings, teleconferences and workplace visits to discuss the draft proposal with FSU members in ANZ. The consultation phase will occur over the next four weeks with a final meeting between FSU and ANZ to be held on Monday 8 November to consider your feedback.
Early this year FSU members provided feedback rejecting ANZ’s proposal to change its pay system to the Global Performance Framework and as a result of this feedback it has been removed from the proposed new agreement.
However ANZ didn’t agree to everything you asked for and FSU believes two critical issues require your attention and feedback:
- The proposed Agreement states that if an employee gets a performance rating of 4 two years in a row they will not receive a pay increase. This means that employees at ANZ are treated differently to your peers in the other major banks who are not doubly disadvantaged by not being able to reach what could be unachievable targets for two consecutive years.
- In addition the use of the words “ANZ’s sole discretion” when determining the setting of targets means that employees who disagree with their targets whilst being able to discuss these issues with their manager, are unlikely to have a positive outcome when dealing with these issues in front of Fair Work Australia – the independent Umpire. The FSU would like to see the words “reasonably exercised” added to this section – to enable fairer collaboration on Target setting.
What’s happening now?
It is important that you get the information you need and have an opportunity to provide your feedback on proposed new terms and conditions for the first time in a decade. Your voice needs to be heard over the coming weeks
FSU workplace representatives and organisers will be talking to ANZ employees to let you know what is in the proposal and how you can have your say.
How do I have my say?
The FSU will return to the table with ANZ on 8 November to discuss the feedback that has been received from members.
