ANZ Collective Agreement 2010 - Make your voice heard…
Monday, 18 October 2010
The new collective Agreement is now at a stage where FSU and ANZ are asking for your feedback about the proposal. This consultation will be conducted throughout October. FSU will be conducting workplace visits, Reps meetings and teleconferences to ensure as many members as possible know what is in the proposed new agreement and letting you know how you can have your say.
Whilst negotiations have taken longer than both parties anticipated they have been conducted positively. However, ANZ have not agreed to everything we have asked for and some critical issues now require your attention and input.
The proposal includes;
Two consecutive 4 ratings resulting in a zero pay increase
Whilst the Agreement guarantees pay increases for most employees at ANZ:
- 4% for those rated 3B and above
- 2% for those rated 4A or 4B
The proposal currently states that if an employee gets a performance rating of 4 two years in a row they will not receive a pay increase. This is the way ANZ have been paying you for the last few years, however that has been the result of unilateral decisions by ANZ, not part of a collectively negotiated outcome with you. Where FSU has represented members in negotiations in other major banks recently, there is no double disadvantage to staff who just miss reaching their targets in this way.
ANZ maintains sole discretion on targets
ANZ has sole discretion to determine your Performance Assessment. Once you have been given your objectives you have the right to raise concerns within 4 weeks and the process can escalate to your 2-line up manager. However if your concerns remain unresolved you are able to invoke the Solve the Problem process.
It is unlikely that a positive outcome on this issue could be achieved in front of Fair Work Australia – the independent Umpire, under this wording of the clause. The FSU has asked for the words “reasonably exercised” to be added to this section, to encourage fairer collaboration on Target setting.
How do I have my say about these critical issues?
- Attend meetings and teleconferences;
- Click here for further information;
- Fax back the forms provided in your workplace; or
- Email: ANZ enterpriseagreement@anz.com cc FSU anzfeedback@fsunion.org.au
The FSU will return to the table with ANZ on 8 November to discuss the feedback that has been received from members.
