Contract of Employment
The FSU has been receiving enquiries from ANZ members issued with new contracts of employment, who are concerned about the hours of work clause in their contracts, and whether the contract contradicts the provisions set out in the Enterprise Agreement/Award.
The FSU has written to ANZ requesting changes be made to the new contracts of employment, to ensure staff are aware of entitlements under the Enterprise Agreement/Award, and to remove any contradiction. Contracts of Employment and Letters of Offer should make clear reference to legal entitlements for all ANZ employees provided in the Enterprise Agreement/Award.
On the 7th August the FSU will be meeting with ANZ to discuss members’ concerns and to consider changes proposed by ANZ.
After the meeting the FSU will send a further update so members are fully aware of any changes, and what they will mean for them.
If you are asked to sign a new contract of employment due to promotion and have a query about the contents of the letter of offer from the bank, please contact the FSU Member Rights Centre for advice and assistance. Call 1300 366 378 between 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday.
Enterprise Bargaining
In the last FSU ANZ update the union advised that negotiations for the new enterprise agreement to protect staff conditions of employment were still on-going. The bank’s response to the Opes Prime, Bill Express and Centro developments and subsequent media coverage has consumed a large portion of ANZ’s time. Trying to find time to meet with FSU to progress enterprise agreement discussions has been difficult.
The FSU have been advised that further discussions will occur towards the end of August with follow up meetings to be held weekly during the month of September.
ANZ members will receive regular updates to advise them of the progress and outcomes of the negotiations as they happen.
