The FSU has lodged with Fair Work Australia on 19 July 2010 a notice to alter its rules to change the structure of the organisation.

Recent takeovers and mergers within the industry have had a profound effect upon the Midsized Banks Section of the FSU.

The rule changes will result in a re-organisation of the elected delegate structures within the union, so that members impacted on by an Agreement are the ones that inform the union’s decision as to whether an Agreement is likely to be acceptable for workers in the company.

The rule changes have been endorsed by National Conference delegates, but cannot take effect until approved by Fair Work Australia.
