AusSuper EA – Next Steps in Bargaining
Firstly, your bargaining team would like to say an enormous thank you to all of the members that attended our sessions on 30 August 2019. Your feedback has been invaluable for determining the next steps in the negotiations.
The team has been working hard to take the feedback both from the meetings and ballot of members and use that to form a position to try to bring the negotiations to a close. The bargaining team will attempt to do this at the next negotiation meeting on 19 September 2019.
In addition to the ballot showing that members overwhelming support the pay principles and the inclusion of a genuine consultation in change process, a majority of members voted to maintain the annual leave loading arrangements as they are presently.
Further, a large majority of members endorsed the bargaining team to explore increasing the hours of work from 36 to 38 per week with a commensurate pay increase and another large majority endorsed the proposal for changes to the severance in redundancy arrangement proposed by AustralianSuper.
With this endorsement from members the bargaining team will return to the table in an attempt to close negotiations. Once the team has done this and received a response from AustralianSuper management, we will return to another meeting of members to provide a further update.
In the meantime, remember that the only way we secure modern and fair working conditions is through a strong union. Talk to your local FSU representative about joining the FSU today or join online at www.fsunion.org.au/membershipapplication.aspx
