BankWest: Some BIG Answers
Print  |  Email

On Monday 11th August, FSU met with representatives from Bankwest Human Resources to discuss the many questions that have been raised with FSU during recent visits to Business Banking Centres concerning the business segmentation and BIG Project Team.

While we cannot provide all the answers at this stage, we can advise:

  • It was suggested that when considering who might be placed in what roles any family or special needs (e.g. part time or job share arrangements) should be considered by the business along with skill needs etc.
  • It was confirmed that anyone who is placed in BIG and would as a result suffer a disadvantage in terms of travel and family responsibilities will have special temporary arrangements put in place (and confirmed to them in writing) to ensure that no disadvantage is actually suffered.
  • It was reinforced that the Business must ensure that meaningful work is provided that is appropriate to a person's grade whilst they are in BIG.
  • Concerns with regard to retraining or refresher training when employees may be returning to the business were discussed.
  • Concerns about Relief for the remaining Commercial/Business Centres were raised.
  • BankWest will provide FSU with KPIs and Organisation Charts.
  • FSU will be visiting FSU members in BIG two months after it is established to assess the work that has been provided and seek the feedback of members.
  • Subsequent to that visit FSU and the Bank will meet again to review the situation and raise any issues or concerns which still exist.

A letter confirming what was agreed (particularly in relation to the last two dot points) has been provided by the Bank to FSU.

We will continue to work with FSU members on an as needs basis to deal with any individual concerns or issues that arise.
