Enterprise Agreement negotiations have started at IAG
Wednesday, 30 March 2011
FSU negotiators have met with IAG representatives twice during March to commence negotiations for a new Enterprise Agreement at IAG, the first since the Fair Work Act was introduced in 2009.
The proposed Enterprise Agreement will cover employees working at CGU, NRMA, Swann Insurance, SGIO and SGIC.
The team of FSU negotiators at the bargaining table includes Wendy Conlan who is an IAG employee working at NRMA and also the FSU National Insurance President.
What are Enterprise Agreements and how are they negotiated?
Enterprise Agreements contain conditions of employment and entitlements such as pay, access to leave and hours of work for employees.
The FSU is seeking to improve the conditions of employment for our members through the bargaining process and we urge every member to get involved in the campaign over the coming months. The more FSU members we have, the greater our bargaining power at the table, so it is crucial that all members have conversations with colleagues about the importance of joining the Union.
Issues that affect you:
The last IAG agreement was negotiated in 2003 and a recent FSU survey indicates that employees at IAG currently feel very strongly about:
- Pay: the need for transparency and fairness in the IAG system.
- Leave: RDO, flex time and retention of the NSW bank holiday.
- Targets
- Workloads
Negotiations are scheduled to continue fortnightly in the coming months and the FSU will keep you updated on the process. If you have any questions please contact the FSU Member Rights Centre on 1300 366 378.
