FSU Members Win Improvements – Westpac and Viridian improve offers for staff to move to Viridian
Over the last few days the FSU has received reports from members that Westpac have improved the transitional arrangements associated with the sale of its BT financial advice arm to Viridian. Improvements to initial offers of employment have also been made by Viridian.

These improvements come hot on the heels of member meetings and FSU correspondence on behalf of members, outlining our concerns that initial offers of employment did not meet the threshold of acceptable alternate employment.

More Work to do to Support all Impacted Staff

Whilst the FSU and our members welcome these improved offers to some staff, there is still more that Westpac need to do to support all impacted staff during this stressful and anxious time.

FSU and Westpac Representatives will meet on Wednesday 8 May to continue discussions in relation to Westpac’s recent decision to exit financial advice through the sale of BT financial planning to Viridian.

The FSU delegation will be tabling a list of solutions developed and endorsed by FSU members. The solutions go to supporting all employees impacted by Westpac’s decision being treated fairly, allowing them to have choice, control and a dignified transition to future job opportunities.

If you haven’t had a chance to view and endorse the solutions document, click here to view it.

If you have a story that you want the delegation members to share with Westpac decision makers about your experience and the impact their decision is having on you and your family, email us at wbccampaigns@fsunion.org.au by 11am on Wednesday 8 May.

Remember, if you have received a letter of offer and are unsure of what your rights are, FSU members can request a review of your individual letter of offer and receive independent advice. Contact us on 1300 366 378.
