FSU Work-Life Balance Claim - Enterprise Bargaining at ANZ
Thursday, 11 June 2009
Enterprise Bargaining between FSU and ANZ starts in the coming weeks.
This process will give FSU members an opportunity to better allow for a satisfactory balance between work and personal commitments.
In addition to FSU-negotiated entitlements in the current Enterprise Agreement and Award, ANZ has many work-life initiatives within policy.
The problem with entitlements existing in policy is that policies can change and are not always enforceable. FSU will bargain to include work-life balance provisions in the new Enterprise Agreement to ensure such entitlements can be legally enforced.
FSU will bargain for:
- Provisions to ensure workloads are achievable within rostered working hours.
- Protection of existing minimum and maximum work hours, penalty rates and overtime.
- Protection of existing career break entitlements.
- Changes to hours only allowable by mutual agreement.
- Greater scope for job-share arrangements.
FSU will bargain to have all employees – including those on TEC-packages - covered by the new ANZ Enterprise Agreement.
What can you do to be part of the Enterprise Bargaining campaign?
- Become an FSU member if you aren’t already.
- Provide your feedback on the EB claim to FSU.
- Talk to your colleagues about work-life balance issues.
- If balancing your personal life with work satisfactorily is important to you, be prepared to actively support FSU’s campaign.
