IAG EA 2011 : The NSW Bank Public Holiday
Wednesday, 27 April 2011
The FSU will be negotiating with IAG in the coming weeks for staff at IAG, NRMA, CGU and IMA in NSW to retain the benefit of the August NSW Bank Public Holiday which was provided for by the previous Insurance Industry Award 1998.
The inclusion of this Public Holiday for staff in NSW brings NSW IAG staff in line with IAG employees in all other states who receive 9 Public Holidays per year.
The FSU is at the bargaining table, negotiating for staff in NSW to receive the NSW Bank Public Holiday as an entitlement in the new IAG Enterprise Agreement. As workers in the Finance Industry, we believe staff at IAG should continue to attract this State Public Holiday.
96% of respondents to the FSU IAG Enterprise Agreement survey said that retaining the NSW Bank Holiday was important to them. And a further 94% said staff morale would be damaged if IAG sought to reduce conditions of employment in the new Enterprise Agreement.
How you can help protect entitlements including the Bank Holiday in NSW
Get involved with the FSU IAG Enterprise Agreement campaign. The stronger the support from IAG staff, the greater the power at the bargaining table.
Show your support by attending an FSU workplace meeting this week to discuss the campaign.
Get actively involved by talking to your colleagues about how important it is to join the FSU as we are currently negotiating the employment conditions of IAG.
