STG/BSA Agreement Finalised - Now It's Up to You

Negotiations between the FSU and St George/BankSA have concluded on a proposed new Enterprise Agreement that includes:

Pay:

  • 4% a year pay increase for all unpackaged employees in January 2011 and January 2012;
  • 1% cash payment to unpackaged employees to compensate for a 3 month move in pay increases;
  • Packaged employees previously covered by the 2007 St George Enterprise Agreement to receive pay increases from a 5% salary pool in 2011 and a 4% salary pool in 2012 (contained in a side letter);
  • A new classification scale for CCC employees;
  • Minimum Increase on Promotion raised to 4%.

Work Life Balance:

  • Improved protections for Flexi Part-time employees;
  • Performance Objectives to be adjusted to take into account approved leave absences;
  • Improved parental leave including the Federal Government Paid Parental Leave Scheme in addition to the bank paid entitlement;
  • Annual Leave Loading and Public Holiday entitlements for packaged employees.

Job Security:

  • Limits on the use of labour hire employees.

Protect Current Entitlements:

  • Grandparental Leave and Union Rights included in the Agreement;
  • No loss of conditions, including an independent umpire to resolve workplace disputes.

Better Access To Career Development Opportunities:

  • Greater opportunity for higher duties, secondment and training.

These are major improvements on what was already a leading banking industry Agreement.

The Agreement has been endorsed by the FSU National Executive. The Agreement will now be going to a vote of all employees.

This Agreement, and the improvements that it contains, would not be possible without the hard work of FSU Bargaining Representatives Susanne Pearce (St George Retail Baulkham Hills), Darren Robinson (BankSA Retail Edwardstown), Debbie Gallagher (St George CCC Parramatta) and Lewis Ellul (St George CCC Kogarah), and the dedication and support of FSU members across St George and BankSA.

Now it’s up to you to vote in the employee ballot.

Ballot opens on the 28th October 2010.
