Suncorp: Patrick Snowball’s job is safe until 2015, is yours?
Wednesday, 14 September 2011
FSU National Secretary Leon Carter has spoken out in the media voicing opposition to Suncorp’s moves to scope jobs for potential offshoring (see below for links to selected media coverage).
Many Suncorp / AAMI claims staff have contacted the FSU to voice concerns about Suncorp potentially offshoring their jobs to India. Representatives from two Indian based outsourcing companies, World Network Services and Genpact, have been on site at Suncorp locations and requesting information from staff about the roles they perform to assess if these jobs can be offshored. FSU members have advised that staff morale is suffering as employees question their job security.
The FSU has written to Suncorp expressing the views of our members, but to date Suncorp have not shared further information about their plans for claims roles in Australia (click here to see Suncorp's response). The FSU is meeting with Suncorp next week to raise our members concerns about offshoring.
All Suncorp employees need to get involved in the FSU campaign to secure Australian jobs as Suncorp CEO Patrick Snowball has committed to staying with the company until at least 2015, vowing to finish the broad
overhaul which he started two years ago.
Post a comment on the FSU offshoring forum http://www.fsunion.org.au/News-Views/Online-Forum/Offshoring-finance-sector-jobs-where.aspx to show your support for job security at Suncorp or call the FSU Member Rights Centre on 1300 366 378 for more information.
