Notification of Membership fee increase in 2017
At this time of year we need to advise you that while we continue to work hard to keep our costs down, membership fees will increase by 3% on 1st July. This will allow us to continue to fight on behalf of FSU members to pass on better working conditions to future generations.

Over the past 12 months the FSU has built on our own legacy as we:
  • Ensured that CBA back paid superannuation to part time workers who work additional hours with no overtime payments;

  • Negotiated 30 enterprise agreements providing above-award pay and conditions for thousands of workers;

  • Continued to lead the campaign for the inclusion of domestic and family violence leave in enterprise agreements;

  • Fought off the government’s attack on working parents who legally access the government paid parental leave scheme designed to work alongside the schemes we’ve negotiated with your employer;

  • Participated in government enquires into unpaid superannuation, foreign trade, paid parental leave, child care, whistleblower protections, life insurance, consumer protection in the finance sector and the recent bank levy. As well as this, we have been an active stakeholder in the Australian Bankers Association reviews into Banking Code of Practice, the Sedgwick Review and the ‘Bad Apples’ Register.

  • Supported members with 36, 138 queries about their pay and conditions

  • Recovered $8,713, 578 for members

  • Represented over 3530 members in individual disputes

All of this and so much more has been supported by union resources bought and paid for by you.

Every single dollar went towards union resources to maintain and improve our working conditions, and to build on our legacy.

As a union member you are a part of Australia’s biggest social justice movement. We are the movement that won Medicare, superannuation, the minimum wage, leave entitlements, workplace health and safety, and paid parental leave.

These were won by union members who, like you, were determined to pass on better working conditions to future generations. The union is all of us working together for a better life.

It’s going to be another big year!

In Union,

Julia Angrisano – FSU
