There are 3 key things you can do to make looking for a job easier. 

1. Be clear about what’s important to you. Take time to consider things like the work environment you’d like to be in, the hours you’d like to work; the type of job, the type of company; what you’d like to be paid; how far you’re prepared to travel and the skills you’d like to develop and use in the role.
2. Be clear about what you have to offer an employer. What are the skills, knowledge and personal qualities you have which are likely to be valued by a potential employer.
3. Be clear about the trends going on in the occupation you’re seeking employment in. Is it a growing occupation or one that’s in decline, what skills and knowledge are normally required for the job and how do those fit with your needs and values?
