Late last year we wrote to you about an “Affirmation” retail staff were being asked to sign, about what constitutes an appropriate referral.
Your feedback was clear: the “Affirmation” was poorly thought out and did not take into consideration issues identified by the Royal Commission around sales and referral pressure and targets. It simply tried to shift responsibility for a cultural problem created by poor leadership back onto workers.
FSU Reps Meet With NAB
Your FSU Reps Myrna and Estelle met with NAB to provide your feedback about why NAB’s actions were misguided and unreasonable. The good news – your feedback forced NAB to reconsider their approach.
A New Approach
The Affirmation will not be rolled out any further and hard copies of the affirmation will not be maintained. Where People Leaders have attached the signed document to People Hub, you will be given the option to remove the attached affirmation document.
Only conversations regarding the processes contained within the document have been recorded in People Hub.
Forced to Sign the Affirmation?
Your FSU Reps have sought further assurances from NAB that it be also noted on People Hub in the event you were forced to sign the Affirmation.
