A slap in the face: Hostplus’ latest offer

JOIN OUR STAFF MEETING TUESDAY 18TH OCTOBER, 6PM (AEDT)

Hostplus management just isn’t listening to us.

Yesterday management proposed 3.5% – a cut to our wages in real terms. After all our hard work and care for our members, Hostplus management does not think we deserve wages that keep us ahead of the cost of living.

If you are not already a member, now is a critical time to join your union.

We have said again and again that we need wage increases to reflect the reality we are living in right now – the reality of 6.1% inflation, increasing electricity costs, soaring interest rates, higher fuel and food costs. Instead of real wages increases, they are suggesting a one-off payment that will do nothing to improve our wages.

Hostplus management is refusing to give us stronger provisions on flexible work in our new Agreement even though we have been saying for months that the current system is not working.

They are suggesting some slight improvements to parental leave, domestic and family violence leave and pay transparency which we welcome but don’t go far enough.

We need to come together to discuss the Hostplus proposal and decide the next steps we will all need to take to win the conditions we deserve.
