ANZ to Slash 60 Jobs

The bank must consider staff and customer needs

ANZ’s planned commercial banking restructure will result in 60 jobs being cut.

The bank have said: “we know we need to change – to be simpler, more service-orientated and more efficient, to meet the needs of our customers.” Cutting 60 jobs does not meet the needs of customers or staff: it’s about cutting costs to increase profits.

Does this affect you? Time to speak up

FSU members already report they are working longer and harder. Recent increases to regulatory and compliance requirements must be factored in to the time staff spend doing their job.

ANZ are required to consult with staff about these changes; they are required to take into account the effect the change is likely to have on staff.

Call on ANZ to respect its staff and customers!

Get together with your colleagues, hold a workplace meeting to discuss what impact this change will have on your workloads, and submit your feedback to ANZ and the FSU before 27 February. Don’t forget to ask what steps the bank will take to mitigate any adverse impact on you and your colleagues.
