Last week in bargaining…
Last week, we were in bargaining meetings on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
We’re pleased to let you know that there was great progress on flexibility! The broad consensus is that teams can set where and when we work (as long as we can still do our job), and ART can only direct us in from time to time (so not every single Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, for example). Come along to one of our sessions to find out more.
ART management also presented their revised proposal on pay. Much of this was focused on how pay increases are calculated when taking into account the different hours of work and superannuation arrangements that people currently have. We’ve asked for more information on their modelling so we can make sure we understand it and can provide detailed feedback. Our position is that all of us should receive at least a CPI pay increase, regardless of our pay band. We are proposing clauses for all staff to be able to have their remuneration reviewed and assessed against objective criteria.
ART management also presented their proposal on classification which we are now reviewing.
We also discussed dispute resolution, consultation, annual leave, sick leave, carer’s leave, parental leave and new entitlements like reproductive health care leave. ART is considering our proposals on these topics.
In addition, we spoke about redundancy, union rights and our favorite issue, workplace flexibility. We had a positive discussion on redundancy, particularly around how to ensure we have choice and control when things change at work.
