Blended Working Strategy – Time to Review

Earlier this year AustralianSuper launched its Blended Working Strategy.

This was an industry-leading policy enabling us to choose the work location that worked best for us and our teams.  When the latest COVID-19 wave emerged, this policy allowed us to work from home to keep us and our families safe.

However, over the past few months we have received increasing requests from our managers to attend the office and face-to-face events.  Sometimes it’s a compulsory day in the office, other times it’s the requirement to fly interstate to join an event.

We understand that time together is important.  But when 135 people nationally died yesterday from COVID-19 and 19,987 new cases nationally were reported, we can’t pretend the pandemic is over. The public health advice is still to work from home where possible.

The FSU has written to AustralianSuper to ask how they are addressing this surge in COVID-19 cases – you can read that letter and the Fund’s response here.

We need to hear from you.  Have you been required to attend a face-to-face meeting or event?  Did you and your colleagues feel safe?
