BOQ management needs to address your concerns

At the end of last month, your FSU bargaining representatives returned to the negotiating table with management to secure a better deal for all staff.

So far BOQ management have not moved anywhere near enough to address your concerns.

Management’s changes to their pay offer and to redundancy provisions only addressed two of the five key issues raised by employees in management’s own survey. We have also heard from you that the proposed pay increase simply isn’t good enough.

Our union is pushing for a resolution on our EA

On Thursday we met again with BOQ management. We put forward a proposal to resolve the negotiations by addressing the key concerns of employees.

In Thursday’s meeting, BOQ agreed to two small improvements based on our proposal: increasing shift breaks for call centre staff from 10 minutes to 15 minutes, and removing the ability to force employees to take long service leave.

But to move negotiations forward, BOQ needs to do better on the key issues you’ve told us you care about.

We expect a substantive response to our proposal at our next meeting, which is scheduled for the 23rd of March.

We will continue to keep you updated as the negotiations continue.

We are only as strong in these negotiations as our collective voice – so if you’re not already an FSU member, join today!
