Bupa repaying up to 18,000 underpaid employees

Your union has been advised that many current and former Bupa employees will soon be repaid for underpayments of their employee entitlements. The remediations are estimated to reach $75 million and affect 18,000 employees.

Bupa’s recent pay compliance review found errors in adherence to some of Bupa’s enterprise agreements and modern awards.

As a result a Pay Review is now underway for over 50,000 current and former employees. Each individual employee’s pay is being checked, dating back to 1 July 2014.

Any employees entitled to repayments will be contacted from March 2022, when remediation is due to begin. Interest and superannuation will be calculated and paid in addition to the repayment amounts.

Any overpayments will not be reclaimed as a result of this review.
