Coronavirus: Suspension of Goals at WBC

Today brought a great win for FSU members. Westpac has agreed to suspend sales targets for customer facing roles and cease proactive calling in response to the unprecedented situation facing workers.

This fantastic outcome was the result of your collective efforts. 4000 of you have signed our petition to support the FSU’s common-sense framework for employers. You shared your stories with us, and together, we’ve managed to get Westpac to do the right thing on this.

In order to bring other employers up to this standard, we need to keep the pressure on!. Many employers are still slow responding to employee concerns about COVID. You can add your voice to the call for employers to protect workers through the pandemic by signing the petition here: www.actionnetwork.org/forms/fsu-covid19/

Share this email with your colleagues and keep the pressure on employers to do the right thing.

If you have stories about targets still being applied, or any other concerns about working during the COVID-19 epidemic we need to hear about it! Send your anonymous stories about targets to fsuinfo@fsunion.org.au

The key points of today’s announcement by Westpac are:

  • All performance goals, measures and targets for customer facing roles are suspended from 1 April (to be reviewed in June)
  • Cease proactive calls immediately – other than care calls to customers
  • Impact on performance will be monitored, and appropriate adjustments will be made to performance rewards and STVR’s

In unity and stay safe,
Julia Angrisano
