NAB has announced further significant changes across the retail network this week. The bank has proposed closure of four branches and shift of 24 branches to a “reduced working hours” model.
These changes will impact up to 72 colleagues across the country.
Each of the proposals is subject to consultation – your right to influence the outcome. If you are affected, your union is here to help you by providing support and advice.

Protections for branches: our new Enterprise Agreement
Negotiations for the new EA are about to start – and this is our best chance to create and enhance protections around the future of work in Branches.
In the recent FSU workplace survey, members made it clear:
We will begin negotiations by tabling the FSU members’ Log of Claims – a list of what FSU members at NAB need to see for this to be a industry-leading agreement.
The more endorsements these Claims receive, the stronger our voice in bargaining for ALL employees.

FSU members’ Log of Claims: our workplaces, made fairer
The Log of Claims was compiled from member feedback in the survey; it spells out the key issues for negotiations. Once it’s endorsed by a majority vote of FSU members, the bargaining for our new and improved EA can commence.
Our claims include:
- Minimum staffing levels in Branches – including relief staff
- Professional skill development and training to future-proof our roles
- Regional/Rural job creation and investment to ensure ongoing employment opportunities
Right now it’s important that we demonstrate broad support for our Claim. This will show NAB we stand together as workers to secure a fair agreement.
