FSU Members – Federal review into retirement income needs

Are you retired, is it what you thought it would be?

The federal government has announced a review into Australian’s retirement income system and we want to ensure that the voices of retirees are heard.

We know that there are plenty of problems with the current system – and that many retirees are unable to provide a dignified retirement for themselves, due to the timing of the introduction of our superannuation system.

When you started working, did you put money away to save for retirement?

Did your employer have a superannuation system prior to 1991?

Has the system delivered you a dignified retirement?

Are you financially secure?

The FSU is looking for members who are prepared to share their stories (you may not need to be personally identified) to assist us in preparing a submission to the Retirement Income Review. We’re looking for retirees who have benefited from the current system, as well as well as for retirees who feel as though the system has failed them or who are concerned that they will be unable to maintain a reasonable living standard for the duration of their retirement.

If you’ve got a story about superannuation or are willing to assist us prepare our submission, please contact the FSU and register your interest here and we’ll be in touch with you in Jan 2020 to talk through how you can best contribute.
