Dear FSU Members,
I am excited to be writing to you about our FSU National Conference 2017, which starts next week.
Our Conference brings together Finance Sector Union leaders from across Australia to set our vision for the FSU into the future. Conference delegates are made up of 40 of your colleagues elected to FSU honorary positions from across the industry, including banking, insurance superannuation and credit unions.
Our focus for Conference and for the future is “Building Strength Together”.
“Building Strength Together” describes everything we do at the FSU, and how we are building a better future for finance workers in Australia.
The finance sector is changing.
Increasing scrutiny on companies has led to an increase in the size and scope of the scandals being exposed. Broken workplace laws in Australia mean that the rules need to change. The workplace is evolving with increasing use of technology impacting job security and the future of work itself.
Now is the time for us to stand together to shape the future of the finance sector.
We are building strength together to change the rules. We are building better, more secure jobs. We are building strength together so that we have an industry that values the contribution that working women make, and supports diversity and inclusion.
We are working together for a fair finance sector.
If you’re interested in the details of our conference you can stay in touch by following the FSU Facebook page. We’ll be updating it with pictures and updates, if you haven’t already followed the FSU on Facebook, you can find us by clicking here.
I’m excited to be leading the union during these challenging times and I hope to be able to share conference outcomes with you, so stay tuned for a post conference update.
