Dear Colleagues,
Today your FSU Safety Network met to discuss the decision of management to remove laptop risers from commercial sites nationally.
Laptop risers are an important part of ergonomic design for thousands of staff using laptops. Unfortunately this decision was made prematurely and without consulting your health and safety representatives.
Sadly, this tone deaf decision ignores your right to a healthy workplace and comes amidst significant job cuts, increase in workload and working hours. All of these factors create risks to your health and wellbeing.
Your FSU Safety Network met and agreed to write to management requesting consultation occur immediately, and before any laptop risers are removed. Members will be kept updated about this response.
If you or one of your colleagues use a laptop or are affected by the removal of laptop risers, contact your local Health and Safety Representative to discuss your rights.
A healthy workplace is everyone’s responsibility, if you know of other health or safety concerns in your workplace or would like to know more about healthy workplaces, send an email to nabmembers@fsunion.org.au with your name and best contact information and a member of the FSU Safety Network will get in touch with you.
Everyone deserves a healthy workplace. Make your national contribution to health and safety consultation here.
In Unity,
FSU Safety Network
