Our union campaigns

There is always a lot going on in finance, insurance, and superannuation, and plenty of opportunity for you to be more active in your union.

Human Rights Network

What is it?

A group of FSU members from all enterprises and states working together to improve knowledge of human rights across the finance sector, and compliance of finance sector institutions with their human rights obligations.

What can I do?

The Reference Group is currently considering the draft Terms of Reference. Launch event will be held in late August 2021. The Network will then be open to all members.

Send this link to your networks so that they can stay up to date.

Vaccination Leave

What is it?

FSU is calling for two days of paid leave to access a COVID-19 vaccination, along with time to manage any side effects. So far more than 20 employers have agreed, with over 150,000 finance workers able to access this entitlement.

What can I do?

Encourage your colleagues to access this entitlement once their employer agrees to it. Employees accessing vaccination leave reinforces how important the entitlement is.

Stay up to date with employer responses, and sign the pledge here.

NAB Wage Theft

What is it?

NAB has been systematically underpaying thousands of workers, particular in group 3 and group 4. This has led to an enormous financial, physical and psychological toll.

What can I do?

Spread the word about this campaign – many impacted people are not “traditional” Union members so we need to reach them any way we can. Send them this link to register.

CBA Tea Breaks

What is it?

In many areas, CBA has been failing to roster retail staff for a tea break, or has not been paying people for their tea breaks. This amounts to more than ten thousand dollars in some cases.

What can I do?

If you know branch workers who have not been receiving their tea breaks, tell them to register for this dispute here. Spread the word about this issue, because if CBA’s systems allow this to happen, there are likely similar issues too.
