You will have woken this morning to the news that Great Southern Bank have commenced the access period on a new Enterprise Agreement.
This means that you have 7 days to review the terms of the agreement and make a decision about whether you support what management is proposing or not.
Sadly, the final terms of the agreement were never provided to your union representatives, nor the timing of commencing the access period. It is a sad inditement on the way that Great Southern Bank carry out their work that shows little to no respect for the voice of their employees.
The proposed document includes:
- 2.5% pay increases
- Some working from home rights
- Some minor improvements on leave
However, it also includes:
- Clawing back of redundancy, redeployment & retrenchment entitlements for new staff
- Changes to several aspects of part time work, which includes being able to roster part timers over split shifts with only a minimum of three hours each day which can be split across the day in any way GSB see fit
A confusing STI program that most employees tell us they either don’t understand or don’t ever receive anything from it
You should read the terms of the agreement carefully and make up your own minds whether this is a good deal for you and your colleagues.
Whether you care about your leave, redundancy pay, dispute rights or your pay increase, the decision is yours about whether you support this deal.
From 12 November 2021 to 15 November 2021 you will have the opportunity to vote and no matter how you vote, it is important that you make your voice heard.
Engage with the process and let management know what you think of their offer.
If you have any queries you can send them to alex.cousner@fsunion.org.au
As always there is strength in numbers and you should encourage your friends and colleagues to join the union.
