This week ClearView rejected a strong call from union members for fair and competitive pay. In our negotiations for a new enterprise agreement, we proposed a guaranteed, across-the-board annual wage increase, to make pay more equitable for all employees. Management said NO.
“No” to fair pay structure
At ClearView we’re saddled with a convoluted, uncertain pay model. Many factors – some beyond the control of employees – are considered before deciding whether an employee receives a wage increase. All decisions rest with the company.
A pool of money is set aside for wage increases — but the pool only operates if ClearView’s annual financial performance targets are met at the “Target” level.
ClearView is now one of the last remaining employers in the sector stuck with performance linked pay.
“No” to independent arbitration for disputes
Clearview also rejected our union claim to allow employees to take any disputes arising out of the agreement, including your annual salary review, to the Fair Work Commission for arbitration by the independent umpire. The FSU Worker Council says this is grossly unfair.
The company has also refused to protect rights around Working From Home and Pandemic Leave in our new EA: while they support such entitlements, they prefer to deal with these through their policies. (There’s more information on these issues, at the FSU’s advice pages on WFH and Vaccine Leave.)
Staff Ballot on the proposal
It is important that you have your say. Approving this proposal ends our chance for improvement – and voting NO to this unfair proposal simply gives us more time to fix it.
ClearView will hold a staff ballot on the proposed new enterprise agreement from Monday 16 August to Wednesday 18 August. You will receive a link which you can use to cast your vote.
If you think ClearView needs to improve their offer
VOTE NO (X) on Monday 16 August.
