On Wednesday, 22 September we successfully launched the Human Rights Network, with an online event, Investing in Change.
We were lucky enough to be joined by ITUC President Sharan Burrows as well as academics, Dr Kym Sheehan and Prof David Kinley, to speak about the impact finance has on human rights and how members can participate in change.
The session was wonderfully engaging, Sharan was brilliant with such inspiring language and giving some context to the global human rights issues Australian finance workers can help change. Sharan told us, ‘The solidarity you will build in the workplace, I can’t tell you the power of that. It is just amazing. And can I say thank you’.
We had 130 in attendance and over 250 registered for the evening. You can watch the event on Facebook here.
We still only have 58 Subscribers to the Human Rights Network so please encourage all your colleagues who want to join with like-minded members to tackle issues like securing paid pandemic domestic violence leave, gender transition leave, superannuation paid on parental leave and more to sign up now.
