IAG: Do you work in a contact centre? Find out your overtime rights

FSU members in a number of IAG contact centres have reported working beyond their scheduled finish times without that time being recognised.

This is not acceptable and IAG must provide overtime entitlements to those of us who are eligible and have met the overtime criteria.

Working additional hours, no matter how small, can add up quite quickly and leave us out of pocket. Overtime loadings should be paid where they apply – it is not fair for IAG to expect us to work for free.

For example: an eligible employee who is required to remain on a customer call after their scheduled finish time is entitled to overtime payment or time off in lieu. Unless the employee has been given permission to cut a call short when they reach their finish time, IAG must recognise any time on the call after the scheduled finish time.

Q&A: Know your rights on overtime

Your Enterprise Agreement, your say

In addition to our rights on overtime, our Enterprise Agreement (EA) outlines many other conditions of employment at IAG. This includes increases to our salary and when these increases will apply.

Our IAG EA 2020 has now expired and negotiations for a new EA commence in a couple of weeks. Having received enormous feedback from members last year, our union has now developed a claim to management for these negotiations.

Make sure you’re up to date with what we’re asking for and register for our FSU Zoom meeting for all IAG staff next Tuesday 23 January at 7pm (AEDT) or Thursday 24 January at 1pm (AEDT).
