IAG Victoria Workers Compensation Scheme Consultation and Update

Dear Colleagues,

As you may well be aware, IAG, through its CGU business, has decided to withdraw from the Victoria’s Workers Compensation Scheme (Scheme) by 30 June 2021.

CGU had begun consultation with all employees at 181 William Street, Melbourne and at 37- 41 Ryrie Street, Geelong this week and we hope that you have had your chance to speak with CGU management on any changes that may affect you.

However, FSU have been made aware, that even though CGU said they were looking to minimise the impact this has on employees they unfortunately predict approximately 140 employees will be impacted which may result in some redundancies.

This is terrible news and it is crucial that you are involved in any and all consultations moving forward.

Worksafe Victoria have indicated a tentative timeline for the transition of claims.

Employees in the first three waves will be issued with notices of redundancy on the following dates:

• First wave: 18 February 2021

• Second wave: 4 March 2021

• Third wave: 18 March 2021
