Aware Super management have informed the union of their intention to implement a restructure which could result in close to 100 financial planners and client service officers losing their job.
It’s important for every FSU member to know that your FSU community is here for you at this time, and we want to do everything in our power to avoid redundancies.
We also believe Aware Super needs to reconsider its position on not covering financial planners under a new enterprise agreement, which is currently being negotiated with the FSU and other parties. The below information shows a comparison of what severance entitlement looks like under an enterprise agreement, compared to National Employment Standards:
VS
Union negotiated Australian Super Enterprise Agreement
- 10 weeks’ Notice plus 4 weeks’ salary for each completed year of service for employees with less than 5 years of service or
- 10 Weeks’ Notice plus 3 weeks’ salary for each completed year of service for employees with more than 5 years of service.
Eg, 10 years of service under the Australian Super Enterprise Agreement redundancy provision = 30 weeks’ of salary plus 10 weeks’ Notice
For these reasons, we would like you to join us for a Zoom meeting on Monday 22 March at 7pm AEDT for a confidential discussion and so that we hear from you about your concerns and take them to Aware as a collective voice. You can click here to register.
This meeting is open to everyone, including non-members, and we encourage you to share this update with your colleagues.
Contact the FSU Member Rights Centre on 1300 366 378, email fsuinfo@fsunion.org.au, or use the webchat function on our website at www.fsunion.org.au if you require assistance.
We hope you can all join us.
