MLC Wealth Advice Restructure - Enforcing Our Rights

Your FSU Reps met with NAB again last week to resolve the outstanding matters in dispute.

Based on very limited progress at this meeting and the information that was subsequently provided a decision has been made to escalate the matter to the Fair Work Commission.

There remains a reluctance on NAB’s behalf to provide important information relevant for you to be able to make your important life decisions. This includes clarity around role requirements, information about remuneration, study reimbursements and fair workloads under the proposal.

Tim Steele assertion that providing salary information to you would be “too confusing” is insulting given the work many of you do. It also highlights the importance of transparent pay systems, and guaranteed salary increases, some of things we will be progressing through our enterprise bargaining campaign.

We also question whether the proposed approach to selection will take into consideration important organisational change principles we have previously secured to protect members. Your feedback indicates that minimising forced retrenchments, matching your preferences, and maximising redeployment opportunities, are vitally important.

We have expressed to NAB that this dispute is limited to areas where there are employment opportunities and members require further information to make decisions and that the restructure can progress in other areas.
