When major change approaches, your union is here to advocate for you. NAB recently announced that a major restructure would occur over the next 3 years.
This included an announcement that 6000 jobs would be cut while 2000 jobs will be created over the 3 years.
FSU has both met with and written to NAB about these changes, seeking a co-operative approach that focuses on minimising the impact of the changes by providing a level of choice and control for employees. You can read more about that here: http://bit.ly/Job_Security
Your Rights Through Major Change
The NAB Agreement includes important protections including:
- The right to FSU representation,
- Genuine consultation,
- A focus on maintaining job security by:
– Using natural attrition,
– Curtailing external recruitment,
– Minimising forced retrenchments,
– Matching employee preferences, and
– Maximising redeployment
Support for Members
At the request of the FSU, NAB has agreed to establish the Enterprise Transformation Consultation Forum (ETCF), comprised of representatives from FSU and NAB. The Forum will convene on a regular basis to provide a mechanism for briefings and consultation.
The FSU will also be advised as local consultation processes commence – but specific details of who is affected and the specific work locations of affected members are often not included.
If you are impacted by a restructure proposal you can access FSU assistance through your local FSU Rep or Organiser. Alternatively you can contact the Member Rights Centre on 1300 366 378 or by email at mrc@fsunion.org.au
