NAB: Implementation of the CA1 Restructure

With the first and second round of CA1 retrenchments now completed and the new operating model in place, we are getting reports from some areas that implementation has been challenging.

We stood together to secure commitments from Krissie Jones and Mike Baird around revised scorecards, training, and pay for the extra hours you are required to work. You can read more about that here.

With the first and second round of CA1 retrenchments now completed and the new operating model in place, we are getting reports from some areas that implementation has been challenging.

New Role New Contract

If you have taken up a new role with NAB you should get a new contract of employment that includes your home branch, hours etc. This contract provides security for your employment arrangements into the future.

Looking at Other Opportunities

If you opted to explore other options – this includes those who needed to keep same days and hours – remember we secured a guarantee from NAB that you could keep your hours and days by opting for a relief role. That continues to apply.

Pay for Additional Hours

Several sites have reported that pay for additional hours being worked to get the job done is not forthcoming. This is wage theft and not appropriate under any circumstances.

Getting the Skills for the Work You’re Required to Do

Other issues include being asked to do work without the necessary training or experience required to complete that work. You should not put yourself at risk if you have not received appropriate training. Compliance issues can have serious consequences for your ongoing employment in the industry.

We Want Your Feedback

We will be taking these issues up directly with Krissie Jones. In the meantime, if things aren’t working locally for you send a short message to nabmembers@fsunion.org.au. All personal information will be treated confidentially but we will ensure the issues are raised with NAB.
