Notice To Members Of Finance Sector Union Of Australia Queensland Branch, Industrial Union Of Employees

The Finance Sector Union of Australia, Queensland Branch (‘Branch’) recently held elections for offices that correspond with offices of the Finance Sector Union of Australia, Queensland Branch, Industrial Union of Employees (‘FSUQ’).

The Branch is the federal counterpart body of FSUQ.

To avoid holding two elections for a corresponding office, the Executive of FSUQ will make an application for exemption from holding an election under section 802 of the Industrial Relations Act 2016 (Qld).

The Executive of FSUQ is making this application so that the member who fills an office in the Branch will fill the corresponding office in the FSUQ.

The members of FSUQ will not be detrimentally affected as members will have already voted, or been given the opportunity to vote, in the election held for the federal counterpart body.

This notice will apply to any vacant offices in FSUQ until the expiry of the term, which commences in 2021, where the office in which the vacancy occurs (in FSUQ) corresponds with an office in the Branch, and where the Branch has held an election for its vacant office.
