Our future at Suncorp

It was great to see so many Suncorp colleagues come together at our meetings recently to discuss the ANZ takeover and what it means for all of us.

Your contributions are key to ensuring that FSU members and Suncorp workers (both banking and insurance) are prepared for the big changes to come.

If you haven’t already, make sure you’ve had your say on the takeover by providing any questions or comments to Suncorp and ANZ here.

Next steps as discussed at meetings

What is happening in the short term? In the lead up to the transition date, is critical that all of us understand the process and our rights. We’ll continue to keep members updated about this – please be sure to join our FSU meetings so we can provide important information and answer your questions.

What is happening in the longer term? As discussed at the meetings we have a plan for what coms after the transition. It’s clear that we must protect and build on the workplace rights of those of us moving across to ANZ. For those of us remaining, it is urgent that we update and improve on our existing Suncorp Enterprise Agreement (EA). It is time to prepare for bargaining in 2024!

Right now, it’s critical that all of us ensure this transition process accounts for the needs of impacted staff.

There are three ways we can do this:

  1. Provide your questions/comments to Suncorp and ANZ. Pass this on to your colleagues and let us know what you’re willing to do to ensure Suncorp and ANZ follow a fair and transparent process.
  2. Attend future FSU meetings about the transition and bargaining. Invite your colleagues to attend with you, stay up to date and engaged as things progress.
  3. Join the FSU if you’re not already a member or ask a colleague to join. We need everyone on board so that our collective voices are heard through this process.

2024 will be a year of massive change. By acting together, we will have a real say in our future.
