Union members record significant wins as talks on pay continue

Finance Sector Union members and Police Bank employees will for the first time see the introduction of several diversity and inclusion initiatives locked in the proposed new enterprise agreement that is currently being negotiated.

The following entitlements will apply to all employees who will be covered by the proposed new agreement:

  • 17 weeks of additional Paid Parental Leave
  • Cultural Observance Leave
  • Menopause Leave
  • Gender Affirmation Leave

Police Bank has also accepted the FSU’s claim to introduce paid Natural Disaster Leave, increase Compassionate Leave to 5 days and improve the current paid Domestic and Family Violence provision.
Discussions on annual wage increases continue. Union members met last Wednesday evening to deliberate on the bank’s offer of 3% in 2022, 3.25% in 2023 and 3.1% in 2024.

FSU members and Police Bank employees have cited the increasing cost of living and wages not keeping up with inflation – they resolved to reject the bank’s offer.

Police Bank have indicated that they will come back with a revised offer. The parties will meet again on Friday this week.
