Proposed workplace vaccine mandates

Thanks for your feedback...

Thank you to everyone who took the time to give feedback on the proposed workplace vaccine mandates. Our Union has been meeting with employers over the last couple of weeks to share your feedback.

As a result of your Union’s work, employers have made changes to policies to make them safer, fairer, and reasonable.

We know that the COVID-19 pandemic has been a challenging time for us.  We have helped customers facing financial hardship and emotional distress. We have come to work every day in customer facing roles, worried about catching COVID-19 or passing it onto our families.

For many of us, COVID-19 vaccinations have provided a pathway to safety, to friends and family, and to living our lives together.

But we know that vaccinations are not enough. To keep everyone safe, vaccinations must be considered alongside other measures like PPE, home testing, and improved workplace ventilation to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 as we return to work. Workplace policies regarding COVID-19 and vaccination must be reviewed in three months to ensure they are safe, appropriate, and are keeping pace with the best available evidence.

This continues to be a rapidly evolving situation. For that reason, your ongoing feedback is critical.  Respond to this email and tell us how your workplace is going keeping everyone safe.  We will continue to provide your feedback and campaign for safer workplaces for all.
