RBA’s plan to remove RDOs – in-person FSU meeting

The RBA has confirmed a proposal to replace its RDO scheme with a one-off 5% increase to base salaries and expanded scope of existing personal/carers leave entitlements.

They plan to do this by varying our Enterprise Agreement. This is allowed under the Fair Work Act, but must first be approved by a majority of eligible employees via a ballot.

The RBA is required to meet with the FSU before progressing with this ballot.

To ensure we can accurately represent your views when we meet with management, please register to attend our important in-person union meeting to discuss the proposal and give your feedback.

When: Wednesday 27 August, 12.30pm (AEST)

What exactly is the RBA proposing?

  • Remove access to the RDO flexibility scheme for all eligible employees.
  • Compensate those currently on the scheme with a one-off 5% increase to their base salary. This includes employees who were on the RDO scheme immediately prior to going part-time.
  • Expand the scope of eight of the existing 18 days currently available for personal leave each year so they can be used for ‘personal wellbeing needs’.

Remember, while many employees may not currently use the RDO scheme, the majority of employees can access it if they choose.

Removing this flexibility entitlement is a major change, so please attend our important union meeting and provide your views.
