FSU members recently raised concerns regarding a safe working environment at 7 Laffer Drive Bedford Park. Members were extremely concerned that the staff facilities were not maintained in a safe and hygienic state on the Adelaide Cup public holiday. It appears that the facilities could not be maintained to the required standards due to cleaning services for the day not attending site.
FSU wrote to Westpac on behalf of members to raise member concerns about your Work Health and Safety when working at Bedford Park on a local public holiday. We advised Westpac that this situation had led to a risk to your health and safety and may have been a breach of the bank’s COVID safe plan.
We have received a response from Westpac, who have assured the FSU that your workplace will be clean on the upcoming public holiday for ANZAC day on 26th April.
If you are working on the 26th of April, and find that there are issues with cleanliness or adequacy of the facilities at your workplace, contact your Member Rights Centre on 1300 366 378 so that FSU can escalate your concerns for a quick resolution and ensure that you have access to adequate facilities.
In Unity,
FSU team
